Samsung’s latest addition to the Bar phone category is the Samsung C3011. It’s only 85.5 grams in weight and having the dimensions 110.5MM x 45.8MM x 12.2MM. This light weight handset was designed by Samsung with an objective to create a comparatively good handset with good features which people with low budget for mobile phones can buy. The Samsung C3011 would definitely please its users.

The Samsung C3011 is a GSM bar phone, operating at regular GSM frequencies (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with a talk time of 8 hours. Its stylish body with a glossy finish has a 2 inch 65k color display. Its display is TFT LCD and size is 128 x 160 pixels. The camera doesn’t stand upto the mark as it is VGA. But just because the camera is VGA, doesn’t mean that the picture quality wouldn’t be good. This handset is one among many exceptions as it can capture good quality images in the VGA camera thanks to the Panoramic shot and digital zoom features integrated with it, supporting upto 640 x 480 pixels.

The Samsung C3011 has 20 MB of memory built inside and supports expandable memory slots for Micro SD cards. The memory can be subtly increased upto 8 GB and has Bluetooth connectivity. MMS and Email features are not supported by the Samsung C3011, but it apparently supports Instant Messaging and SMS facilities. The Samsung C3011 can be used for only GPRS connectivity in this handset as it’s not designed for EDGE connectivity and wireless protocols.

The Samsung C3011 is integrated to a java platform which can support a number of entertaining games and another advantage that this handset has is that it possesses the Openwave 6.2.3 version web browser. The phonebook supports upto 1000 entries. The handset stands by for about 700 long hours and is powered by Li ion 800 mAh battery.
The audio and video players of the phone are not bad but barely meet the general customer requirement or demand in a low priced handset. But the users will be satisfied anyway. As in other handsets, the Samsung C3011 also alerts the user with vibrations and Mp3 ringtones.

It lacks infrared connectivity but that’s justifiable as the infrared technology has been outdated for so long now. The Samsung C3011 has standard 2.0 version USB port with easy plug in and disconnection. Most importantly, the phone supports multiple languages for texts including Hindi and Tamil and Mobile Tracker feature which will be handy incase the handset is lost.

Coming in attractive and exquisite black and silver colors, the Samsung C3011 costs approximately Rs 2500/-.
