The largest mobile manufacturer Nokia has released a unique handset, Nokia N9 weighing 160 grams. Nokia N9 is a 4.0 inch QWERTY keypad. This handset uses multi-touch input technique and has a proximity sensor for enabling auto turn-off.  The super AMOLED capacitive touch screen has 16M colors .Nokia N9 is much larger than i-phone. Scratch resistant surface, touch sensitive controls are the other features of N9.The internal memory has the capacity of 64 GB storage, 512 MB RAM and 1 GB ROM. The memory of the handset can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. The data network connectivity is possible through GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with A2dp. However the model doesn’t have infrared port. The handset will be available in various colors.The micro USB cable will enable the user to download important documents from PC to mobile. Nokia N9 is packed with 8 MP camera having autofocus and dual LED flash features. The, 2592 x 1944 pixels camera is loaded with good usable features like Geo-tagging, face and smile detection. Messaging channels supported are SMS, MMS, Email, push email and IM. Nokia N9 is expected to arrive in the Indian market on October, 2010. This new handset has the capacity to store unlimited contacts and the user can view up to a maximum of 30 days call records.

Through WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML and RSS feeds, internet access is made easier. Stereo FM radio with RDS, FM transmitter and the pre-downloaded games are sufficient to entertain the user. This cell phone comes with 3.5 mm audio jack. This java based mobile supports digital compass, MP3 player, voice command/dial, document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF) and video/photo editor. Nokia N9 is powered with standard Li-Ion 1320 mAh battery. The phone supports both 2G and 3G network. The price of the mobile is not yet revealed. But it is assumed to be priced around Rs.30, 000/- in the Indian market.
