The largest mobile manufacturer, Nokia has launched dual SIM mobiles recently. With the launch of these mobiles the competition has become intense in the Indian dual SIM mobile market. Nokia’s entry to this space gives a tough competition to other Indian players like Spice, Micromax and Maxx in this particular space. More over, Chinese companies like Lephone are coming up with triple SIM handset models too.  Nokia has launched these two dual SIM models at an attractive price range too. The most impressive feature is the excellent battery back up of the phones.Although there are no multimedia features in the newly released mobiles but they satisfy the basic needs of the users.C1 comes under series 30 platform and C2 is based on series 40 platform. Nokia C1 accommodates double SIM but only one of them remain active at a time. In C2 both the SIM can remain active. It is extremely easy to switch between the dual modes.

Nokia released these mobiles to withstand completion, satisfy customers and to gain market share in the Indian market. Generally it is viewed as Nokia got little bit slow in responding to this dual SIM need of the Indian market and they allowed Indian players to gain a space in the Indian market. C1 and C2 have a good battery back up especially C1 which offers a standby for 6 weeks. Dual SIM, flashlight, color screen, FM radio, calls divert facility are some of the features of C1. The features of C2 include dual SIM (GSM+GSM), GPRS/WAP, 0.3 megapixel camera, micro-SD, stereo FM radio, bluetooth and MP3 player. Both the models can store 500 contacts in the phone book and 250 text messages. Nokia C2 is powered with Ovi life tools and Ovi mail facility. Nokia C1 will be priced around Rs.2,000/- whereas C2 will be available at around Rs.3,000/-.
