Nokia has announced the release of a new mobile phone for middle class families. Its name is Nokia 100. It is very much affordable to the common man. When considering a budget phone it has all features that should be there in a budget phone. Nokia 100 cannot be characterized as a multimedia phone because it doesn’t have any multimedia features except the radio. Most phones in this segment don’t have any features like this Nokia 100 has. The most common problem with this type of phones is in its style and looks. But Nokia 100 is very stylish and is now available in four different colours. The colors are Black, Pink, Blue and Red.

Most of this segment phone doesn’t come with a thin film transistor screen. This thin film transistor is also known as TFT. But this handset has TFT screen. The size of the TFT display is 1.8 inches. This phone is a candy bar type phone. This is because it just looks like a candy bar. Nokia 100 is slightly slimmer. Because of this, its weight is much less, the weight is around 70gm. The keypad consists of both numeric keys and soft keys. The display resolution is 128×160 pixels with the color capacity of over sixty five thousand.

This phone has a battery backup of over 840 hours. The available talk time hours are around seven hours. This specialty is very new for the phones in this segment. The SMS storage capacity for Nokia 100 is limited. Around 250 messages can only be stored in this phone. Nokia 100 also provides flashlight facility. Alarm and Calendar are also available in this handset. The phone book can store around 500 entries. A 3.5 jack head phone is also available with the handset. The accessories available along with the Nokia 100 are user guide, USB charger, stereo headset and the battery. Nokia 100 costs around Rs 1500/- in Indian Markets.
