LG GT 540 Optimus was released in June 2010.The dimensions of this new handset are 109 x 54.5 x 12.7 mm. LG GT 540 Optimus has a TFT resistive touch screen with 256 K colors. The 3.0 inches cell phone has a screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This phone weighs 115.5 g. and has both 2G and 3G connections. The internal memory of the phone has 130 MB storage and can be stretched up to 32GB, using a micro SD card. The phonebook can hold unlimited entries and fields and also enables the user to enjoy making photo calls.The user can retrieve calls anytime. Data connectivity is enabled through channels like EDGE, WLAN, GPRS and bluetooth with A2dp.The micro USB cable allows transfer of data from PC to mobile. LG GT 540 Optimus lacks infrared port. This cell phone has a 3.15 MP camera with autofocus.  The 2048×1536 pixels camera has many other features like geo-tagging, face and blink detection. Users also have the option of video capturing. The operating system used in this phone is Android OS, v1.6.Messaging options include SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email, and IM. HTML browser enables the user to easily download the documents from internet. Stereo FM radio with RDS, etc can entertain the user anywhere and anytime. To add to the users’ entertainment there is an option to download any number of games.

LG GT 540 Optimus is available in black, white and pink colors. The java enabled phone supports many applications like google search, maps, gmail, you tube, google talk and face book, twitter. Organizers, document viewer, voice memo, T9 are some of the other common or basic features of this cell phone. The phone is loaded with standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery, which offers a standby of up to 500 hours for 2 G and up to 500 hours for 3G.The talk time offered is up to 5 hours 30 minutes for 2G and up to 7 hours 20 minutes for 3G.This handset is available at Rs.12, 000/- in the Indian market.
