Lava has released a new cell phone Lava ARC 02 Plus. This handset is a Bar styled model, which has a dual SIM and dual standby. Lava ARC 02 Plus is a 1.8 inch cell phone with a screen resolution as good as 128×160 pixels. The model comes with TFT screen and 65 K colors. The operating frequency of this new handset is 900/1800 Hertz. ARC 02 Plus has good storage capacity that can accommodate five hundred contact details and four hundred SMS. User can also retrieve any number of calls anytime. Messaging options supported in this new Lava model include SMS and MMS.Music experience is triggered by features like Polyphonic Ring tones, Voice Recorder, Speaker and a Audio Player with stereo FM radio. However this new model has many short comings, it seems a trade off for the low price. This handset lacks a digital camera, good video resolution and internet. The data connectivity lacks support for modes like Bluetooth, EDGE, 3 G network, and Infrared. However data connectivity options of WAP and USB are supported fully. The phone has Li-ion1050 maH battery. This offers a talk time of 4 hrs and standby for about 320 hrs. Lava ARC 02 Plus has an internal memory as well as external memory that can be stretched up to 2 GB using a T-Flash card. ARC 02 has a alpha numeric keypad and hands free speaker. As the phone supports java environment, use can download and enjoy playing the games.

ARC 02 also enables the user to select Hindi Language. Mini USB audio jack, powerful torch and long lasting battery are some of the other attractive features of this handset. This cell phone is available in one single color, Red with Black. The sales pack contains Handset, Battery, Charger, Earphone, USB Cable, warranty card and so on. Lava launched this mobile phone for budget conscious users. As discussed earlier, this model has many shortcomings when it come to having options, but it is still a good model for the lower segment class. The company offer warranty for one year. Lava ARC 02 Plus is priced in the Indian market at around Rs.2, 399/-
